What I like about his piece is the pose the character does. Complex, but not too hard to pull off, and that´s cool.
About the coloring. You should try (at least) to follow the lineart, like in a coloring book (still, the lineart needs way more definition, or a better hand pulse). I see you tried to make some shading, but it´s meant to give depth, and not just textures. Remember the light source, and you´ll know where to areas are to meant to be darken and lightened.
Something else I (among many other people) appreciate is that, if you use stock images, you should at least redraw it, so the main content blends better, otherwise, it looks really off. Doesn´t look that bad here, though, but remember this in the future: Everyone will like it much more, if you make all the content from your drawing, believe me.
